Windemere Ranch Middle School Education Fund: The Secret of Our Success

Tax ID: 04-3815491   Address: 11611 East Branch Parkway, San Ramon, CA 94582

Welcome to an extraordinary community of parents, teachers, and learners!  Windemere Ranch is one of the top-performing middle schools in all of Contra Costa County – and in the top 1% statewide.

Our academic success doesn’t just happen.  It reflects the concerted efforts of visionary administrators, superb teachers, a dedicated staff … and committed parents.  Many parents have demanding schedules that make it difficult for them to volunteer.  But EVERY parent can support the Education Fund.  And every year, nearly all of them do.  That’s the secret of our success.

Our fundraising goal for this year’s Registration is $250,000 with which Ed Fund will support the following:

Class size reduction

Thank you for your generosity and support. Last year, in 2020-21 we were able to fund 8 year-long sections - this year we hope to fund 12 year-long sections.  Your contributions will have a direct impact on class size reduction each year.  The average student to teacher ratio at Windemere Ranch would be nearly 35:1 without your support of Ed Fund.  But with your continued support, this year the ratio of students to teachers will be about 29:1.

Technology Support

For technology support, we will be refreshing the Computer Lab with new hardware and replacing classroom projectors. We also plan to invest over $40k updating other technology in the classrooms and to purchase or renew software subscriptions. These will provide new technology support for our children and their learning. Software titles such as Newsela, NoRedInk, Flocabulary, Spelling City, Easy Bib, Ed1Stop, and Game Salad are funded by Ed Fund donations.

Shade Structure to Support Student Health and Safety

The Ed Fund plans to purchase a shade structure in the 2021-22 school year if we are able to reach our fundraising goal of $250,000 at Registration. Along with reduced exposure to solar ultraviolet (UV) radiation, the Shade Structure will provide students with the option to eat their lunch outside in a physical and social environment that support safety.

Elective Classes

Your Ed Fund donations help us to provide many, many electives and hands-on experiential learning opportunities. Some electives and programs your donations support include:

  • Music Program and Visual Performing Arts (Drama and Art)
  • Technology Classes (Video Production, Computer and App Programming, Game Design)
  • Home Economics and Cooking/Baking
  • World Languages (Spanish, French, Mandarin)

Funds Distribution
Nearly all (99%) of your donation goes directly to class size reduction, technology support, and school improvements. Additionally, your support directly contributed to WRMS being recognized as a California Distinguished School in 2019, a California Gold Ribbon School in 2015, and a National Blue Ribbon School in 2014!

As our continued commitment to you, the annual registration drive that starts TODAY is our only fundraiser. The Ed Fund has committed even more for the coming school year.  So we need your help, please fill out the donation section in the registration form. We also have a strong focus on Corporate Match for which we need your help to submit your requests at your employer.

Thanks for your support of WRMS!
